Heart-Centered Choices

Hi. This blog is a bit of a deeper one this month! April showers really do bring May flowers - so let’s sit in the rain together for a moment :)

It is important to acknowledge when things feel heavy because it may be a sign that we are out of alignment with Love.

Oftentimes when we go through difficult things, it’s an opportunity for us to love ourselves even more deeply, by honoring all parts of ourselves. There is no need to fear pain because Love often waits on the other side of pain.

When we truly allow ourselves to sit in pain or discomfort, we are able to see it for what it really is - an area in which we have lost Love for ourselves. We are all here to learn and integrate lessons, it’s really a beautiful thing. If you are willing and curious to get to the root of your pain - and unloving thoughts or beliefs about yourself - you will likely connect with a deeper version of Love for yourself.

Beware: sometimes a loving action might be disguised as an avoidance of pain. I know I have been guilty of many pain-avoidant actions! If you have people-pleasing tendencies, this might resonate with you. For example, you might get someone a big present out of your budget. You might do this not because it’s from a truly heart-centered place, but perhaps you have some fear of not being seen or acknowledged by that person. What happens in this scenario is your fear of not being acknowledged or feeling worthy actually gets tucked inside of this gift-giving. Now, if this person doesn’t fully acknowledge as you had hoped, you are crushed. The pain rushes in. You feel hurt by that person, you might even blame that person for not acknowledging your efforts. However, you were the one that tucked your own pain and fear inside the gift.

What is tricky about these types of scenarios is that on the outside might look like “love”, but our pain is buried inside. What we really just did was place our pain in the hands of someone else or a situation, and now it becomes out of control.

So, how do we navigate being heart-centered versus pain-avoidant?

Connect to your soul - through movement, meditation, or mindful activities (preferably in nature!)

Listen to love - when you are pulled by your heart and not by your mind to take action, listen…

Move forward with grace - take action from your heart-centered place, regardless of fears you may have, trust yourself!

Remember ~ your fears are keeping you away from love. Your pain is keeping you away from love.

Feel the pain, face the fear, unlock love

So so proud of you!

Keeping my body centered ~

  • LMNT & Green Tea

    • Staying hydrated w/ LMNT electrolytes in my water and then soothing mint green tea throughout the day. This routine has been working for me!

  • Yoga at Sama Yoga Center

    • I have been dedicated to taking one class a week myself, and I am loving teaching twice a week. I am subbing for a few classes as well :)

  • Baths with Magnesium Epsom salt

    • After a long day, a nice soak really does the trick.

Keeping my mind & spirit centered ~

  • Book: The Untethered Soul

    • I read a few pages before bed, it is amazing and this blog post was inspired by some of its teachings

  • Mindful Morning Magic

    • I structure my own mornings based on the course. My ability to connect to calm in the morning has a direct correlation to the alignment I feel throughout my day!

  • My Meditation Playlist

    • Some days I spend two minutes, others I take around 15 minutes to meditate and center myself. It is delicious!

      Love,
      Care
