winter wellness + podcasts
I don’t know about you, but right now I’m feeling like I want Winter to go away. There — I said it!
Even if you don’t live in a place that experiences traditional “Winter weather,” this feeling might resonate with you too. This is because there is an energy to Winter no matter where you live. And because there’s an energy to the season, you feel its effects on your mind, body, and Soul.
What IF, instead of desiring for Winter to be over, we leaned into the energy of Winter even MORE for the next month? What if we gave Winter everything we have, and we answered its call to invoke more warmth, rest, and reflection into our days?
This reminds me of my meditation practice. On the days that feel like it is more difficult for me to sit, I know it’s a sign that I need it the most. When I give myself 5-10 more minutes than I normally would, I often drop in and can access a deeper level of peace than I would have if I stopped when I originally wanted to.
Here are some questions to help us lean into these energetics over the next few weeks. And who knows, maybe we will be left with new feelings of love in our hearts and an openness we never imagined possible for the seasons that are ahead.
Warmth
How are you keeping your body warm day-to-day? (Layers, sweaters, baths)
How are you moving to create physical warmth? (Walks outside, yoga, workouts)
How are you nourishing your body? (Warming teas, grounding soups, grains + root veggies)
Rest
When can you carve out time to rest?
How are you supporting your rest? (Ex: guided meditations, restorative yoga, bedtime routines)
How are you resting mentally? (Ex: time off social media, reading a good book, boundaries around work)
Reflection
When can you carve out time to reflect on how you feel and where you are? (Ex: in the mornings, nighttime, weekend days with no plans?)
How are you taking good care of your physical body? (Ex: adequate rest + self-care practices like self-massage, steam, sauna)
How are you taking good care of your inner self? (Ex: supportive podcasts/ books, subconscious work, mindful practices)
Speaking of tending to your inner self, here are some Podcasts currently inspiring me on my inward journey:
